Job Title: Maintenance Engineer (Electrical)
Salary: £35k to £45k

Principal Purpose of Role
A progressive developing food manufacturer are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team working a 3 rotational shift system (1 in 5 nights). As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities and equipment. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying and resolving technical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and implementing improvements to optimize efficiency in a food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Main Duties
- Carry out repairs to all types of manufacturing plant and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
- Carry out planned maintenance task, reactive maintenance task and planned maintenance of all the electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose faults effectively and repair the faults to bring the machine back into production
- Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance schedules (PPM).
- Carry out PPM schedules as necessary and planned works orders as required.
- Assist visiting specialist engineers when necessary.
- Report breakdown root cause, equipment faults and concerns to line Manager.
- Perform troubleshooting to solve minor repair issues.
- Make full use of CMMS
- Plan/prioritize workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time
- Assist in the meeting of daily production plan.
- Fill in job tickets/ CMMS on completion of work accurately and in a timely manner.
- Typical example of work would be to respond to maintenance request for equipment fault, diagnose fault, repair and return equipment to operational service. All work to be carried out operating in a safe and efficient manner. (a process of dynamic risk assessments operated).
- Identify spares requirements, log usage and aid in control
- Assist in the moving, installation and repositioning of machines and equipment.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES PERSONAL PERFORMANCE
- To ensure line performance is optimised.
- To communicate all issues to team leader/shift Production Manager.
- Services breakdown to notify Maintenance and Production Managers immediately.
- Maintenance and Production Managers must be notified of any stoppages lasting one hour or more.
REQUIREMENT
- Must have degree in Electrical and Electronics engineering OR City and Guilds level 3 minimum in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Also have working knowledge of mechanical engineering, to repair the mechanical faults
- Good knowledge of mechanical maintenance on processing, packaging machinery including conveyors etc. in the food industry
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and Fanuc control systems
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex issues
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Understanding of control system, PLC systems
- Ideal candidate should have maintenance experience in 60% Electrical and 40% mechanical parts
